Greetings, Prince William - CASA Virginia in Woodbridge is looking for an Intern to support their programs which advocate for immigrants and refugees. This one-year, part-time, paid internship would begin September 11 and be done in their Woodbridge office. Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or other languages are preferred. - They Served Us - Now You Can Help Them! Volunteer Prince William's VETS program needs Volunteer Drivers age 21+ to provide transportation for veterans and their spouse/widow to medical appointments, supermarkets, retail and houses of worship. Schedules are flexible and most rides are done between 8:30am-3pm. You'll feel great as you provide transportation and friendship to veterans and spouses who otherwise struggle to have their daily and medical needs met! - American Cancer Society provides free rides to treatment for people with cancer and they are looking for Volunteer Drivers in Prince William County and surrounding areas. What's often standing between people with cancer and lifesaving treatment is a ride to get there. The American Cancer Society's Road To Recovery program fills this gap. They're looking for a volunteer Baby Shower Coordinator to help them plan their monthly baby showers, normally held on the 4th Sunday of each month for their expectant clients. - You can make a difference in the life of a child! Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) needs volunteers age 21+ who care about children growing up in a safe, permanent and loving home. The staff will hold their next Virtual Information Sessions on September 6 and again on September 20, 6pm-7pm each time. That's what many recent immigrants who have arrived here are facing. The hard-working staff at Catholic Charities have volunteer opportunities for Mentors for school-age children and Instructors to teach ESOL for the upcoming Winter session in Manassas on Tuesday evenings, 7:30pm-9:30pm. Historic Manassas, Inc. needs SNAP Volunteers age 18+ who can help with the SNAP program during the Thursday and Saturday morning Manassas Farmer's Markets, 9am-1pm. Duties include helping people sign in, handing out tokens to spend at the market, counting tokens and explaining how the tokens work to recipients. Training is provided. - Historic Manassas, Inc. is also looking for a "people person" Front Desk Volunteer age 21+ who can help at their Visitor Center on Monday afternoons, 1pm-5pm. You'll have loads of fun interacting with visitors as you answer questions about Old Town Manassas and all the fun activities that take place! - Holy Family Catholic Church is holding their Holy Family Fun Festival September 8-9 at 14160 Ferndale Road in Dale City. They need LOTS and LOTS of volunteers to make this a fun, family-friendly event! Duties include help set up, operate various cultural booths, sell food, raffle tickets and much, much more! - The Manassas Museum located at 9101 Prince William Street, Manassas is open again and they are looking for friendly, smiling volunteers to act as Greeters. Duties include greeting visitors, providing directions, pointing out special exhibits/resources and answering basic questions regarding the City. PWC Parks and Recreation offers Adapted Recreation Programs for Children and Adults with disabilities, and they need volunteers to support their Aqua Zumba Classes are held Fridays at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center, 13025 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge 22193, September 15-December 15. Volunteers will get in the water with participants and help keep them on track and focused on the activity; classes are run in 3-4 feet of water. - You can help fight food insecurity! The wonderful staff at St. Thomas UMC Food Pantry in Manassas needs weekday Food Pantry Volunteers to help sort food donations during the week and assist with keeping the pantry organized and clean. Volunteers are typically needed 9am-12pm, and staff is present to train new volunteers. Duties include sorting a variety of food and putting them in designated spots in preparation for distribution, ensuring storage areas are neat/orderly, and cleaning (wiping down counters when done, taking out the trash, sweeping, etc.).
