  • Good Morning Prince William - The Sweet Julia Grace Foundation needs volunteers for their Field Day at the Farm Brewery on Saturday May 18th.  Come help with check-in, assist with games or clean-up.  Volunteers 10 and older are welcome with an adult or age 14+ without!   •  The Tough Mudder is coming to Silver Lake in Haymarket on June 1st & 2nd.  This team oriented 8-10 mile obstacle course will have thousands of participants.   • Merrimac Farm needs volunteers for the May workdays on May 11, 9am-12 noon and May 19th, 1pm-3pm. Tasks include weeding, pruning, and watering plants as well as tiding up the Stone House.  Please RSVP to alliance@pwconserve.org.
  • K9s Serving Vets needs volunteers for two upcoming events to assist with planning. The Annual Service Dog Salute 2 Veterans event with raffle and silent auction in August at the Bungalow Alehouse and a 1950's benefit event in October. The following committees need volunteers- sponsorships, venue/catering, auction, promotions, printing, ticket sales, volunteers and education.   • ACTS needs volunteers with pickup trucks to move food donations from area post offices to the ACTS Hunger Prevention Center in Dumfries on Saturday may 11th.  This is in partnership with the Annual Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive.  Please email Shirley at scouteau@actspwc.org if you can help them out.
  • Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers to paint a metal roof in Manassas May 9-11th.  Please sign up on their volunteer calendar at: habitatpwc.org
  • The wonderful folks at Serve Our Willing Warriors needs House Prep volunteers to prepare the Retreat homes for visiting veterans and their families.  With two Retreat houses available, there's plenty of work to do, and it's a wonderful way to thank our veterans for their sacrifices.  SOWW will also be holding a series of Beautification Days to spruce up the property for their guests.  Please visit https://willingwarriors.org/ or email volunteer@willingwarriors.org to learn more.   • CASA needs volunteers to be advocates for abused or neglected kids, please come to their next information session on May 21st from 6-7pm in Manassas.  Please email JoAnn at jpolen@casacis.org to register and learn more.
  • Youth for Tomorrow needs volunteers to work with the kids either as mentors for both boys and girls or share your hobby with the kids on weekends.  Do you like dancing, cooking, singing, golf, crochet, arts and crafts then consider sharing your fun with a kid?   • The American Heart Association needs volunteers at the next race on Saturday June 8th sponsored by Lawyers have Heart at The Washington Harbour in Georgetown.  Tasks include start /finish line assistance, registration, water stops and post-race party.   • Novant UVA Health System needs volunteers in their surgical services at the Manassas and Haymarket hospitals. They also need volunteers at the Aubergine Thrift Store in Old Town Manassas.  Come be part of the team benefitting the community.   • Area Agency on Aging needs volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels mid-day in both the Manassas and Woodbridge communities. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday.  They also need volunteer activity assistants at the Adult Day Healthcare Center for fun activities such as chess, checkers, dominos, and bingo and play musical instruments.  Please visit their website at: pwcgov.org/government/dept/aaa/pages/volunteer for more info.
  • The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is looking for volunteers' age 55+ to deliver noon meals through the Meals on Wheels Program.  Shifts are just 2-3 hours and available in throughout the greater area.  RSVP members receive a mileage reimbursement and additional insurance coverage at no cost to the volunteer.  Please call Jan at (571) 292-5307 to learn more.
  • Leesylvania State Park needs volunteers for their monthly shoreline cleanups to pick up trash and drift wood.  The next work day is May 18th.  Kids age 7+ with a parent are welcome! Please register by calling the visitor center at (703) 583-6904 so they have your name to waive the entry fee of the park.
