Greetings, Prince William: Have you made your New Year's resolutions yet? Why not make volunteering in the community one of your top priorities? · ACTS: Action in Community Through Service needs assistance transitioning to their new client management software. Volunteers aged 21 and up are needed to enter current client information into their system. Two-hour shifts are available Monday through Thursday, onsite only. · Volunteer Prince William, in partnership with the Potomac Health Foundation, has a team of just under 20 volunteer VETS drivers in our area. Our VETS Program assists in getting Veterans and their spouse/widow(er) to local medical appointments, supermarkets, retail locations, and houses of worship. Once signed up, you can set your own schedule and drive as often as your time allows by using our online scheduling program. · The fun staff at Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has several adoption events planned this month and they're looking for volunteers to help! What could be better than spending a day with all the dogs and cats and helping them find new homes?! Dates with openings: Jan. 18 in Falls Church, Jan. 11 in Rockville, Jan. 25 in Silver Spring. The final day to sign up for any event is the Friday before that specific event. Drivers age 18+ are also needed to transport dogs and cats from local shelters to adoption events on weekends! Please note that you MUST have one adult in attendance for each child.
· Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center invites you to become part of their volunteer team and explore their many opportunities! Volunteers are placed throughout the hospital and contribute thousands of hours each year to support the hospital mission "We improve health every day." · SERVE's Hunger Resource Center has an urgent need for Food Recovery Drivers to make routine pick-ups on Monday-Saturday mornings to rescue food from grocery stores and restaurants to help food-insecure families. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ride along training with experienced volunteer or staff is provided. Volunteers drive agency vehicles, not their own - teens can ride along to help! Just one day a week can make a life-long impact on a local family in need!
