Description

Our Volunteers Child Advocates work one-on-one with unaccompanied migrant children to connect with them and advocate for their rights. Child Advocates meet on a weekly basis for about an hour plus travel time.

We have some basic requirements to volunteering with us:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Speak a language other than English. We have a specific need for people who speak Spanish and Central American Indigenous Languages
  • Have access to a car
  • Attend a 2-day new volunteer training
  • Attend an info session
  • Be willing and able to pass a background check

We host multiple trainings every year in both virtual and in-person formats. In 2026, trainings will take place in April, June, and September.
