Volunteer Prince William Alternative Community Service

Volunteer Prince William (VPW) is the coordinating agency for all court-related alternative community service work (ACS) in Prince William County (PWC), for both adult and juvenile cases. We routinely process referrals from the 31st General District Court and PWC probation offices, with our fees paid by the county.

Cases from out of jurisdiction courts or probation offices, as well as self-referrals opting to perform Community Service prior to court (Pre-trial), are subject to a fee of $150 payable at intake, plus $1 per hour of community service.

Payment can be made by cash (exact amount only), money order made payable to Volunteer Prince William or credit card.

ACS clients provide relevant background information, sign a contract to perform ACS, and are then referred to an ACS site as convenient as possible to their home location and schedule. The entire intake process takes only 15-20 minutes. Upon notice of completion from the ACS site, we provide a letter for the client. Intake interviews are conducted by appointments or email weekdays only, from 9am - 4pm. Please review your court date and take this into consideration.
If you have a completion letter, please email or FAX it to us using the information below. You may also drop it off at the office during business hours or slip it through the mail slot in our front door.

No-Show Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you are unable to attend, please notify us in advance so we can offer the appointment to someone else.

Effective immediately, a $25.00 no-show fee will be charged for any appointment that is missed without prior notice according to our policy.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. This policy helps us respect the time of our staff and ensures appointment availability for others.
