Who We Are

Project Mend-A-House, is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serving veterans, seniors, persons with disabilities, and low-income residents of Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and Manassas Park since 1984. We provide free home repairs, safety and accessibility modifications.

Project Mend-A-House is a volunteer driven organization.

What We Do

We recruit and welcome volunteer, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other willing workers, matching them with people in need of minor home repairs and safety modifications. A leaky faucet, a broken step, a slippery bathtub surface, with no railing to grab. Our dedicated volunteers give their time to equip disabled resident's homes with safety features like hand rails, shower seats, wheelchair ramps, grab-bars and more.

We also provide a program called "Loan Closet" of durable hospital equipment. Such as, living aids for in-home use including hospital beds, wheelchairs, medical alert devices, shower chairs/benches, raised toilet seats, and stair climbers.
