Greetings, Prince William:  You can make a difference in the life of a child! CASA CIS needs volunteers age 21+ who care about children growing up in a safe, permanent and loving home.  The staff will hold their next Virtual Information Session on June 11, 6pm-7pm.  Learn how you can help protect abused and neglected children in your community by becoming a volunteer advocate.  Please email jpolen@casacis.org or call 703.330.8145 to receive the link to the meeting or to inquire about alternate dates.

·   New group volunteer opportunity!  The staff at CRi (Choice. Respect. independence.) needs volunteer groups age 14+ to do some indoor and outdoor projects at one of their group homes in Woodbridge.  Indoor jobs include painting and placing new decals on stairs.  Outdoor jobs include gardening/yardwork.  It's family friendly and you'll feel great as you help improve the appearance of this home for special needs clients!  Please visit https://bit.ly/3HmYqGQ for details, email Shannon at volunteer@mycri.org to learn more.

·   "Bee" a "Honey" of a volunteer and support the Manassas Bee Festival, June 21 at Liberia House, 8601 Portner Avenue in Manassas!  Volunteers are needed beginning at 6am to make this a successful event - shifts are available.  Volunteers who sign up will also get a T-shirt.  You'll "bee" happy as you help make this free event a day of fun!  Please visit www.manassasbeefestival.com/volunteers/ to sign up, email ManassasBeeFestival@gmail.com with any questions.

·   If you're looking for a Saturday volunteer opportunity, here's a great one for you!  Manassas Farmer's Market needs volunteers age 16+ for their Saturday market, 9024 Prince William Street, Manassas 20110.  Shifts are available 6am-10am and 10am-2pm.  Volunteers will help set up/clean-up of the market, count visitors, take photos/videos, distribute SNAP and MATCH tokens and answer general questions.  The markets operate rain or shine through November 22, 2025.  The whole family can help, and you'll have a great time meeting people, enjoying the fresh air and being around all that nutritious and tasty food!  Please visit https://bit.ly/44Ka6x4 to sign up, email rhane@historicmanassasinc.org to learn more.

·   Help fight hunger!  Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (7669 Limestone Drive, #105, Gainesville) is in Desperate need of donated food items for Kid Snack Packs for the summer break.  Items including EZ Mac, fruit snacks, crackers and juice boxes are needed.  With schools scheduled to close soon, it's critical to make sure our local children aren't going hungry.  Baby items such as diapers and formula are also needed!  The whole family can help, and you'll have a warm glow as you help fight food insecurity!  Please visit  www.haymarketfoodpantry.org/needs/ for a complete list of items.

·   Want to help the PWC Animal Shelter clear out invasive plants from their facility?  Join in the next Not in my PWC Invasives Removal cleanup being held June 20 at 9am!  The location is PWC Animal Services Center/Shelter, 14807 Bristow Road, Manassas 20112.  Help remove invasives, mainly honeysuckle and English ivy.  All ages are welcome, please bring your own tools, gloves, and water.  It's family friendly and a wonderful way to keep the animal shelter facility clear of invasive plants!  Please visit  https://bit.ly/4lnDIGx to sign up, email dnelson0512@yahoo.com to learn more.

·   Do you love guiding youth?  Prince William County Office of Youth Services is seeking dedicated volunteers age 21+ for their Right Step to Opportunity program, a diversion initiative designed to help youthful offenders avoid the juvenile justice system and build a brighter future.  Volunteer tasks include participating in Community Conference hearings with youth and their parent(s), helping determine appropriate sanctions and positive opportunities and support youth in making better choices.  Volunteers must complete training sessions and commit to at least three hearings per year.  Your guidance can make a difference and be the turning point in a young person's life!  Please visit https://bit.ly/4kFt3pc and click on the Respond button to sign up, email youthservices@pwcgov.org for more information.  This opportunity begins in July 2025.

·  The fun folks at Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center, 16198 Silver Lake Roadin Haymarket have started their Kayak Camps but volunteers age 18+ are needed to support the camps' remaining dates on June 14, July 12 and July 26!  A maximum of 10 students ages 9-18 will attend each session and volunteers will receive the required training.  You'll feel fabulous as you help special needs clients gain self-confidence, build self-esteem and allow this agency to meet their mission of "Changing Lives, One Hoofbeat at a Time!"  Please email volunteercoordinator@rainbowriding.org for more information, visit www.rainbowriding.org to learn more.

·  You can help ensure fresh food is available to food-insecure families!  The SERVE campus of Northern Virginia Family Service needs volunteers age 18+ on Monday, June 30, 9am-2pm to help staff take a complete inventory of food and supplies in their 8,000 square foot warehouse in Manassas.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and should be prepared to do moderate lifting up to 35lbs.  This is a great one-time opportunity which will help SERVE improve its food assistance program to the nearly 600 households who visit each month for help!  Volunteers will also help identify urgent food needs for clients.  Please email Navara Cannon at ncannon@nvfs.org for more information.

·  Help light up the sky!  The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton needs volunteers age 16+ for their Annual Fireworks event on Saturday, June 28.  Shifts are available 1pm-11pm for tasks like running carnival games, guiding attendees, assisting with parking, setting up, tearing down, and supporting vendor booths.  On site orientations for the event will be held Sunday, June 22 and Monday, June 23 - with a possible virtual orientation if needed.  It sounds like a fun day in support of a memorable event!  Please visit https://bit.ly/3StRxWy and click on the Respond button to sign up, email Volunteer@WorkhouseArts.org to learn more.
