Do you enjoy history? Do you like gardening? Volunteer with Prince William County's Office of Historic Preservation and help keep the site's gardens and landscaping beautiful!
Garden volunteers help maintain the flower beds, herb gardens, vegetable gardens, and other special historical plantings at our parks. This job may also include some landscaping, mulching, propagation, transplanting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. Gardeners also assist with periodic site clean-up days and historic programs involving the gardens they maintain, if they would like to.
Gardeners are Needed at:
- Rippon Lodge, a colonial home built in the 1740s and used as a home until the 1990s. Located at 15520 Blackburn Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191
- Bristoe Station Battlefield, the site of two major American Civil War battles located off the roundabout at Iron Brigade Unit Avenue and Tenth Alabama Way in Bristow, VA 20136
- Ben Lomond Historic Site, an 1830s plantation that was once a Civil War field hospital located at 10321 Sudley Manor Dr, Manassas, VA 20109
- Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre, the fourth county courthouse (1822-1893) located at 12229 Bristow Road, Bristow, VA 2013
